MY INSPIRATION: Empress Theodora

I want to tell you about the woman who inspired my EMRESS Collection.

Theodora's story is legendary; Theodora, who had a bawdy reputation as a dancer, fell in love with the Byzantine Emperor of the time. The Eastern Roman Emperor Justinian changed the laws so that he could marry Theodora.

The couple, who left their mark on the Byzantine period with many innovations, had no children. Justinianus, who had a special interest in law, and who implemented many innovations for the people, remained in power for 19 years. Theodora, alongside her husband, took on duties in the administration of the empire. She opened care and education areas especially for orphaned women and children. My admiration increased as I read the story of this strong woman from the geography where I was born.
