STATES OF MATTER 2
More than 50 designers and artists created works for the "States of Matter 2" exhibition at the Armaggan Art and Design Gallery .
The exhibition aims to enable designers and artists from different disciplines to think together and produce together. Şanel Şan explains the starting point of the exhibition as follows: "The works exhibited in the gallery of the luxury design and production brand ARMAGGAN were designed specifically for the exhibition, just like the brand's specially designed products."

I would like to talk about how the work titled “ THIS IS NOT A COFFEE FORTUNE. '' came about: I met Hülya Sözer through this exhibition. After Şanel Şan introduced us, we got together a few times. We started sharing our perspectives on design and art and the points that affect us today.
I am in a period where I am focusing on our food culture and the experience design that the objects we use make us feel. My interest in the object designs we use on the table has started to increase. Especially our coffee culture in the geography I live in. I am in a period where I started to design on the coffee cups we use every day and the drinks we drink with coffee. I thought this project came at the right time.
Naturally, I suggested the idea of designing a coffee cup to Hülya Sözer. Hülya's relief figurative works in her ceramic works had caught my attention. The question "Why don't we combine these figures with coffee cups?" came to my mind.
In the geography where I live, it is a tradition to tell fortunes by looking at the coffee grounds left in the cup after drinking coffee. Based on this idea, Hülya Sözer made the cups by placing the figures we shared in our conversations on them. When we looked at the result, the first thing that came to our minds was " THIS IS NOT A COFFEE FORTUNE TELLING. "
It was an enjoyable experience to design and produce products together.
